Diamondbacks Looking To Stay Hot In Denver
Taking the hill for the Diamondbacks will be Zack Greinke and
he has gone 8-3 with a 3.00 ERA in 14 starts on the year,
including 2-0 with a 2.04 ERA in his last three starts and 2-3 with a 3.32 ERA in six starts on the road.
Greinke has gone 28-20 with a 3.88 ERA in 74 games (64 starts) during the month of May in his career and
he is 8-4 with a 4.03 ERA in 22 games (21 starts) against the Rockies in his career,
including 3-0 with a 4.03 ERA in nine games (eight starts) here at Coors Field.
The Diamondbacks have been a solid offensive team thus far as they come in ranked 5th
in the league in scoring, putting up 5.13 rpg,
while also ranking 9th in hitting at .263 and 11th in homers with 94.
On the mound they have been very solid in the early going as they come in ranked 2nd
in the league in ERA at 3.44, while also ranking 4th in WHIP at 1.24.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have been rolling of late,
but the Rockies come in having won their last five games in a row themselves and
they have the 2nd best record in the league.
Still, they showed a few issues on the mound against the Giants,
especially in their pen and the Diamondbacks have a big edge on the mound with Greinke over Marquez.
The Rockies have the advantage at the plate in this, especially here at home,
but I just don’t see the Rockies with the edge in starter on the mound.
Look for a tight game to be pulled out by the Diamondbacks in the end.
